2025 BOOTCAMP: SUSTAINABILITY

This summer, for the first time in Bali, we are hosting a Sustainability Bootcamp – an intensive events run by students for students!

Rooted in the belief that stories shape mindsets and mindsets shape futures, this camp blends story telling, community discovery, and sustainable thinking to help students grow in confidence, critical thinking, and global awareness—while naturally strengthening their English communication through meaningful engagement.

A. What is Sustainability—and Why Does It Matter?

The Sustainability is season 3 (for Quarter 3.2025) of Global Citizen Program at The Learning Space – an international community of young minds. This is then converted into a camp for members who missed it out and would like to catch up on the journey of Becoming Global Citizens. It’s in fact more than a camp theme—it’s a mindset.

The fast-paced growth of our world is using up resources quicker than they can replenish, posing significant challenges for future generations.

Our children will inherit a world where resource scarcity demands strategic thinking and accountable actions. Therefore, future Global Citizenship emphasizes sustainability as a cornerstone competency, acknowledging the formidable challenges our children will face in a resource-constrained future. Understanding sustainability entails recognizing the impacts of our actions on the environment, community and especially, business world. By cultivating sustainability, children embrace their responsibility to mitigate these impacts and create positive change. It’s about taking ownership of their actionsmaking informed choices, and actively contributing to a more sustainable and equitable world for present and future generations.

Through storytelling, community/ business discovery, and hands-on activities, participants will explore how their choices impact both local communities and the business world. This bootcamp blends creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork to prepare young ambassadors to:

  • Understand their own values and strengths

  • See how communities and systems work together

  • Learn how to create solutions for real-world problems

From the Stage of Self, where participants build confidence and self-awareness, to the Story of the Village, where they connect with local businesses and traditions, and finally to Light We Pass On, where ideas are turned into action—each step is designed to deepen the skills and awareness needed to be a changemaker.

This is an open invitation to wonder, learn, and lead. So let’s keep asking: What is a Global Citizen—and why do we need to become one? The answers, and the journey, begin here in Bali.
